Deaconess Mary Andrews (1915-1996) served with the Church Missionary Society in China between 1938 and 1951. She began work as the Principal of Deaconess House in 1951, and was commissioned as Head Deaconess in the Diocese of Sydney in early 1952. During retirement she served as part-time chaplain to three retirement villages, and in 1980 she was made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for her Services to Religion. She had extensive involvement in Christian mission and women’s organisations. Her collection includes recordings of Bible talks, interviews and audio diary recordings.
