E.T. Earl Lectures - The Fifties

E.T. Earl Lectures - The Fifties continued the tradition at Pacific School of Religion to provide an opportunity for well-known Christian scholars to address the Berkeley community, in large part to balance out the secular education at the University of California. The Earl Lectures began in 1902 and continue through to the present.

The lectures were first recorded on reel to reel audio tape in 1950, when they were also broadcast on the radio. Cassette tapes were latter created in the 1960s for sale and distribution, landing in various theological libraries. Previously, printed forms of the lectures were occasionally made available, as with the Theodore Roosevelt lectures in 1911.
