Entries are listed by month, with each Sunday's total pounds, shillings and dollars added into a monthly sum. Often an explanation is provided for low sums collected, usually bad weather and subsequent low attendance. Expenditures are listed by year and include cords of firewood for the sickly during winter, and cash gifts to individuals such as detained sailors, widows, and disabled parishioners.
