These soldiers drive the martyrs up a slope and around a tree trunk. They then force the martyrs over the edge of the summit. The victims fall onto sharp pikes and are impaled. A town is visible in the distance. The design of the illustration is based on Albrecht Dürer's Martyrdom of the Ten Thousand (c.1496). (Cartouche: "Christia[n]s driue[n] up the mou[n]taines.34.79."
